Bill “Alabama” Butler carried the M-60 Machine Gun for awhile, walked point and was a part-time squad leader. Bill was wounded in Tay Ninh. He was awarded 2 purple hearts and was one of the true heros of our platoon.Bill passed away at the age of 56. Bill is survived by his wife Joyce Butler, three daughters, Kathy, Daphne, and Vickie. Bill had 5 grandsons. Bill served in Vietnam from Sept. 68 to March 69. Bill will never be forgotten as long as one of us is alive. Rest Easy brother.
